Day 1: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Mutianyu Great Wall

Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 08:00am. This morning, you will begin with a visit to Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares in the world and the very heart of Beijing. After that, you will continue to the magnificent Forbidden City (Palace Museum), the largest imperial palace complex on earth, where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties once lived and ruled China for centuries. After lunch, you will drive out of the city to the scenic Mutianyu Great Wall. On the way, you will have a short optional stop at a traditional jade workshop, a nice chance to take a break and learn a little about Chinese jade craftsmanship. Once you arrive at Mutianyu, you will enjoy about 2 hours of sightseeing on this beautiful and less-crowded section of the Great Wall, famous for its lush forests and breathtaking mountain views. After the Great Wall visit, you will return to downtown Beijing, with a brief exterior photo stop at the Olympic Park to see the iconic Bird’s Nest and Water Cube from the outside, before being transferred back to your hotel.

Day 2: Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace

Your guide will meet you again at your hotel at 08:30am. Today is a more relaxing day, starting with a visit to the stunning Summer Palace, the best-preserved imperial garden in China, well known for its peaceful lakes, elegant pavilions, the famous Long Corridor, and the Marble Boat. After lunch, you will have a short rest stop at a pearl workshop before continuing to the impressive Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest ancient imperial worship complex in the country. This sacred place was where emperors once prayed for good harvests and harmony. At the end of the tour, your driver will take you comfortably back to your hotel.
